This Fall, Mobycon welcomed Amy Tijs to the team! Amy is joining us as a Junior Marketing Specialist at the office in Delft, the Netherlands. Read below to learn more about what brought her here and her future at Mobycon.
I’m excited to join Moybon as a Junior Marketing Specialist in the Delft office. I’m delighted to contribute my enthusiasm to a team that demonstrates such genuine passion for its mission.
My passion for livable environments for all humans and nature alike is deeply personal. I care a lot about the preservation and integration of nature into urban planning. Growing up in the Dutch suburbs, the freedom of safe, active mobility was a given. Whether cycling to school, heading to the city center, or simply going for a run through nature. Eventually, I realized this seemingly simple privilege is not universal. I remember visiting family in the rural USA, where simply walking to a café two minutes down the road was practically impossible due to the lack of safe pedestrian infrastructure. This realization impressed me how the built environment can restrict life and opportunity.

After graduating from my master’s degree in media studies, I was accepted into the Road Safety Summer School at the University of Zagreb. This program opened my eyes to the world of road safety, a topic I care deeply about after being hit by a car three times. The summer school introduced me to the key themes of road safety, including safe active mobility infrastructure.

Before completing the summer school, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in tourism and a master’s degree in media studies, both in Rotterdam. During both, I was an honour’s student, allowing me to participate in several inspiring projects, ranging from PR to social engagement strategies. My educational background also describes my interests: I love traveling and the outdoors, as well as nature photography and am passionate about (social media) marketing.
Other than that, I’m a huge animal lover and enjoy being active. 1,5 years ago, I discovered running and have participated in several races ever since. Next up: a half marathon! When I joined Mobycon, I was excited to hear about the weekly lunch run in Delft and have happily joined my colleagues multiple times on a run already! I also started a run club myself in my hometown (Zoetermeer) and organize monthly social runs. Feel free to tag along sometime!

Overall, I’m excited to be part of team Mobycon. Working in this international and enthusiastic team is very inspiring, and I’m happy to work towards livable environments for everyone around the globe.
