At the end of September, Senior Mobility Consultant, Matt Pinder and Integrated Mobility Consultant, Narayan Donaldson had the opportunity to present at the TAC (Transportation Association of Canada) Conference in Vancouver, Canada! This year’s conference looked at how new technology is providing new tools to build and maintain transportation systems.
On the first day of the conference, Elizabeth Pugh and Mobycon’s own Matt Pinder were awarded the Committee Achievement Award for their work with the Active Transportation Integrated Committee (ATIC).

Later, Matt also had the chance to present on complete networks and how conflicts can be avoided through strategized network design. His engaging presentation brought the room to life through audience polls, allowing them to vote with a show of hands!

For me the most striking [part of TAC 2024] was the explosive popularity of sustainable mobility on the agenda. There were more active transportation themed sessions than ever before, and many of the sessions were standing room only. It’s a sign of a high degree of both interest and passion in the topic across Canada.

After Matt’s presentation, he could sit back, relax, and learn from others… such as Narayan! In the afternoon, Narayan Donaldson presented his thoughts on International Best Practices in Micro-mobility Vehicle Regulation, highlighting how Canadian micro-mobility regulations compare to the regulatory frameworks from the European Union!
The following day, Narayan presented with Amy Hunter, Transportation BU Lead, on Dutch Signal Implementation in Canada. They analyzed the benefits, challenges, and governance changes required for adopting Dutch-style signals in Canada.

Overall, the conference was a success and we cannot wait for next year! Make sure to stay up to date with the conferences Mobycon will be attending via LinkedIn and Instagram.
