NEW Employment Opportunity at Mobycon USA: Junior Integrated Mobility Consultant in Portland, Oregon, USA

Do you love cities and sustainable community building? Are you a ‘plangineer’, change-maker, and problem solver? Do you want to work on sustainable transportation projects to help North American cities reduce their dependence on the automobile?

Mobycon seeks an enthusiastic Junior Integrated Mobility Consultant to support our efforts in North America and beyond. We are specifically looking for a new team member to join our team in Portland, Oregon, USA.

To be eligible for this position, you must be able to work in-person from our Portland office.

In this role, you’ll join our small but mighty team of innovative sustainable mobility planners and designers on projects that thoughtfully integrate global best practices into the local context.

This position is ideal if you are motivated to learn, passionate about sustainable mobility and a quick learner.

For this position, you’ll need:

  • Post-secondary education in urban planning, engineering, landscape architecture, urban design, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience at a consulting firm. Experience from a local government or other relevant organizations will also be considered.
  • ‘Plangineering’ project experience in integrated mobility design, policy, and/or planning.
  • A proven track record in delivering project milestones while balancing needs for quality and timeline.
  • Exceptional English communication skills both verbal and written.
  • The ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Capacity to excel in a remote or hybrid working environment, collaborating with clients and partners spanning multiple states and time zones.

You will excel in this position if you are:

  • Knowledgeable about current transportation practices, policies and design standards in the US and have some understanding of methods in other jurisdictions (e.g., Canada, The Netherlands and beyond).
  • Motivated to support the delivery of winning bids and proposals.
  • Eager to support clients in meeting their goals for context-sensitive innovation.
  • Ready to support the delivery of workshops, interactive community engagement sessions as well as oral presentations for projects, conferences, and events.
  • Committed to growing and maintaining a network of trusted partners and collaborators.
  • Available and willing to travel when necessary.

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Relevant professional accreditation in your field
  • Entrepreneurial skills
  • Experience using design and spatial analysis software
  • Proficiency in creating visually stimulating content (i.e., Adobe Suite).
  • Work experience on a national or international team
  • Other languages

Working hours are negotiable between 32 and 40 hours a week.
