Virtual Behavior Change Masterclass

Using a social perspective to get more people cycling

Take a break from your day-to-day activities and join us in this virtual behavior change masterclass. You will be accompanied in developing and implementing your plan to reach your target group. With this, you gain key insights into attracting new cyclists and encouraging more cycling. Learn more about the Social Practice Theory here.

Places where people are happy to cycle offer a good mix of physical and social cycling infrastructure. In cycling policies and measures, the focus is often on creating physical cycling infrastructure. We believe it is a missed opportunity to overlook the social cycling infrastructure aspects, as cycling can be a positive, healthy, and efficient way of getting around for many, from young to old, with diverse backgrounds and physical abilities.

What to expect
This masterclass is delivered over four 1.5-hour sessions. We’ll dive into topics like:

  • Cycling as behaviour
  • What influences the choice to cycle
  • Techniques to encourage (daily) cycling in your community

The first three sessions are held biweekly and will provide you with the tools and insights to start testing ideas in your city, region, or organization. Three weeks later, we’ll reconvene for the final session, an opportunity to reflect, share experiences, get feedback, and plan your next steps.

By the end of this masterclass, you’ll be ready to shape further your strategy to inspire and support new (daily) cyclists in your area.
